Bulgaria's competitiveness improves
Bulgaria’s ranking has improved in the World Economic Forum’s Global Competitiveness Index.
Bulgaria came 57 out of 148 countries for 2013/4, compared to 62 in 2012/3.
This puts Bulgaria ahead of several EU member states: Greece, Slovenia, Hungary, Romania, Croatia, Slovakia and Cyprus.
The index is based on 12 factors: institutions, infrastructure, macroeconomic environment, health and primary education, higher education and training, goods market efficiency , efficiency of the labor market , financial markets, market size, technological readiness, level of business development and innovation.
