Reaching Wimbledon quarter finals
After beating Petra Martic of Croatia, Bulgaria’s Tsvetana Pironkova is through to the fourth round of Wimbledon for the third time in her career.
In the first round she beat Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova of Russia, and in the second round Barbora Zahlavova Strycova of Czech Republic.
The Daily Mail highlighted how well Pironkova performs at this tournament: “Grass gives Tsvetana Pironkova special powers. It's a fact. The 25-year-old Bulgarian has been past the second round in the other three Grand Slams only once, but she is incredible at Wimbledon.”
In the quarter finals her opponent is the fourth seed, Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland.
