Bulgaria joins ’50 tours of a lifetime’
For the first time, National Geographic Traveller has selected a visit to Bulgaria for its 2012 list of ’50 tours of a lifetime’.
Called Splendors of Bulgaria, the tour is organized by Cultural Crossroads.
“Travelers will see signature sites such as the 10th century Rila Monastery and Boyana Church, the Danube Riverside, the Black Sea Coast, the Thracian Tombs around Kazanluk, as well as the oldest Neolithic houses in Europe, built 6000 years B.C.
“Together with these famous places, the tour includes small villages, pottery towns, ancient cities, and four out of the 7 sites included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.”
