Focusing on infrastructure
A top government priority is to upgrade Bulgaria’s infrastructure. Led by the Regional Ministry, impressive progress is being made with new roads, bridges and railways.
Of immediate benefit to Cleves tenants will be eventual extensions to Sofia’s Metro – for example, to the airport.
But the real money – over ?3bn - is being invested in seven new highways, which are part of the EU-funded Pan-European Transport Corridor. Nearly ?1bn more is going into the railways.
Being next to Turkey, Bulgaria is the natural entry point to the EU from the Middle East and Asia. Faster trains and better roads will help trade in both directions.
