Green buses for Sofia
Sofia’s city-owned public transport company has issued a ?41.5 million tender for the supply of 126 natural gas-powered buses.
Financing will be provided under the EU-funded Environment programme and the city budget.
The first 20 buses will arrive within six months, with the remaining 106 to be delivered within a year.
Compressed natural gas vehicles are becoming increasingly popular in Bulgaria. With 22 refueling stations, Sofia is possibly the city with the most publicly available CNG stations in Europe.
