Cherry exports rise

Good news from Bulgaria�s agriculture sector: cherry exports rose by 45% last year. The top foreign markets were Britain, Russia, Romania and Moldova, according to the government.

Focus reports that Bulgaria's cherry crop last year reached 30,063 tonnes, up by 20.5% on 2010.

Sofia hosts Olympic volleyball round

The last qualifying competition for the men�s Olympic volleyball event is being held in Sofia at the Arena Armeec Sports Hall until 13 May.

Bulgaria has already beaten Slovenia and Serbia to gain a place in the semi-finals. Bulgaria's�next game is against Spain on Friday.

Eight national teams are competing for a place at London 2012.�According to EZSofia Guide, �The teams will be divided into two groups who will battle it out for a shot at the playoffs and a chance to go on to the Olympic Games in London.�
